“ Last year, I attempted the UPSC prelims through complete self-study, but I now understand why I couldn't crack it. The experience I am receiving now is more analytical in approach, and When I was reading through the chapters earlier, I was just plain reading and not analyzing them critically.
I was mainly focusing on memorizing notes rather than understanding the concepts, and I realize now that this was the reason why I couldn't crack the prelims. Thank you so much for the insightful sessions that has helped me see the gaps in my earlier preparation. Your classes have been very useful, and when I read through the chapters now, everything makes a lot more sense to me."
"To be very honest, I'm literally very honoured to be part of this journey. I'm really Happy because, I know somewhere that it will put a strong foundation towards my learning and experience and how I'm gonna become in future. So, I've taken this opportunity by you. I'm so glad to be a part of it. I think it's very useful because it has helped me a lot. Because you focus a lot more on interactions and knowing one's thought and view. That's very helpful to develop our skills. And it's quite interesting and I'm so glad to be a part of this. And I've learned a lot because, through attending your sessions. Actually I had a humanities background. Still I couldn't remember much of history. But by you it is easy to remember. Because what you do is that you give an idea about it and then we have to read it."
"I have been a virtual member and I would be telling it very diligently going on through your recording classes until this morning your last class on Sangham literature. That has given me a sense because I was keen on history before. But I was somehow backtracked while studying it. I got too much deep into it. But your lectures of how to study things have given me a new perspective on going on through chapters. That has helped me a lot. Though I have not been that much in sync with the post read. I'm still on the Mauryan's part. But whatever I have study or read I can relate it to what I have seen on recordings. That gives me an opportunity to read it better or as they say read between the lines."
"Just come to the class without any biases. Don't at all read because that's the first way you get your bias. Unfortunately the way we study history has been very dogmatic for quite some time. But when you come and just listen to Naman and the team we have, and different perspectives that'll be better. You'll learn to question. And, facts you can mug it up always before the UPSC exam. But we all have to see the long run. I'm here because I want to just question and form my connections in this topics of political science and history. "
"First of all thank you for all the efforts to the misfits also and personally to you. And all my peers also that they are so co-operative. I would like to summarise it in four to five points. Firstly just speaking it out, whatever we're able to understand or connect the dots in any form. Secondly we are able to summarise each class in five key learnings. That's the best part. And post-reads are just so easy. It just takes about 10-15 minutes and it's like more curious we are. Ok, this were discussed in the class and that's more interesting. We're able to learn much from the peers. It doesn't feel more like competition. and conjectures are very easy. Even when I'm solving some PYQs or any random question at that time, it feels like okay okay we can call it from like this or like that angle. And the best part is cold-calling. Cold calling is making us more attentive. And we've just like fear of being cold called has just gone away. Anytime we have to be very attentive. Thank you so much!"
"Firstly, I would like to thank you for the last one week session. It was very good. And for an intro person where who has not even remembered anything about the history from the past four to five years. I think it was very good start for me to know things, How it was before and after.
I think I want to give a small orientation to all those who have not come. Here it's not a place that you'll be made to study. It's just a place that you will increase more of your curiosity. Sometimes you'll feel that you don't know much because you haven't read it. Because all the things happen in post-read. And one more thing that happens in the session is the cold calling, where you'll be asked questions. And here we have a lot of exchange of views about one topic. One view might be different from other, but it still matters when you write an answer. it's not just my views actually is the answer. So I think that has been done and what I've learned till now I'm able to remember."
"So for me basically, I used to take a lot of time in reading, because once you are reading, you are like whether you are targeting the right things or not, this journey like our discussions has made it really simple. I'm able to read books, easily like we are covering chapters, we are relating we are interlinking the different periods and it's seems like a story which is being built up. The other part was so when we are discussing in such a group setting and different people have their own opinions. One of the candidate will link to one of the other will be linking it to religions. So, that's very fascinating for me that the same thing has so many different perspectives. Which might even help me to actually relate all these things in the mains examinations as well. So I was really happy about it. One thing which has helped me to remember those points is, somewhere in the notes I've written how it was Linked to economics, how it was linked to religion, how it was linked to polity and that has helped me and gave me a better understanding. "
" When I listened to the recorded meeting, it was very beautiful I always wanted such environment where people are speaking and we are discussing thoroughly because our school had an environment of Rote learning. And most of the toppers, they focus on the idea of making notes. So, I as a person who has the idea of speaking and learning. So, I really thought how difficult it might be for me to make notes out of those stuff which are already written in the book. But you clarified those doubts that it's not necessary to make notes. It's very much important to revise, revise and revise. So, that's definitely helpful and thank you so much. "
